Ricardo is more than just a cook: he’s a man with a true passion for communicating with people. He has an engaging personality that shines through in his recipes.

Television Programs

For the past ten years, Ricardo has hosted his own daily cooking show on CBC’s  French television network. He has won a Prix Gémeaux, an award given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, as best host in a lifestyle series. Ricardo also hosted and co-produced a series called Ricardo & Friends for the well-known Food Network Canada and Global. His latest creation, the series Fermier Urbain (Urban Farmer), deals with urban farming and made its debut on Radio Canada in April 2012.  All of his series have enviable ratings in Canada and have been sold on the international market. They are shown in more than 35 countries around the globe.


Ricardo is also a successful author. His cookbook La Mijoteuse is breaking records in the publishing world with more than 100,000 copies sold. The English version, Ricardo’s Slow Cooker: From Lasagna to Cheesecake, will be available in Fall 2013 (by HarperCollins). His previous book, Parce qu’on a tous de la visite (La Presse Publishing), won gold as the best Canadian cookbook in a cookbook competition organized by Cuisine Canada and the University of Guelph. It was later translated by Whitecap Books, with the title Meals for Every Occasion. His book Ma cuisine week-end was published in English as My Weekend Cooking, and he co-authored La Chimie des desserts with Christina Blais.



Ricardo is also a superb magazine published eight times a year. This beautiful cooking magazine celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2011. Winner of prizes for the quality of its photography and graphics, Ricardo is one of the rare publications in Canada that sees a constant increase in its readership.


With over 4,000 recipes to choose from, the bilingual site ricardocuisine.com is one of the most visited in Canada.  It has more than 12 million page views and more than 1.2 million unique visitors per month.  Over 149,000 users subscribe to Ricardo newsletters and he boasts more than 94,000 fans on social media.

Production Company

Ricardo owns and runs his own television production company, Productions 350°, which specializes in lifestyle and cooking shows. As well as his own shows, the company produces other cooking programs such as Les Desserts de Patrice.


Kitchenware and Cookware

In 2011, Ricardo launched his own collection of kitchenware, which became an instant hit.  Available in over 600 stores in Canada, the selection of cooking accessories offers more than 120 items and is constantly evolving.  You can browse through the entire collection at ricardocuisine.com/boutique.


Causes Embraced

The welfare of children is a cause Ricardo heartily supports. He is a spokesperson for La Tablée des Chefs organization, which advocates food self-sufficiency for underprivileged youth by teaching them how to cook. His commitment and involvement with youth earned him the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Ricardo is also involved with many fundraising activities for the Breast Cancer Foundation all across Canada.



Ricardo studied at the Institut de tourisme et de l’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) and then went on to study radio-television communications at Ottawa. More than a simple cook, Ricardo Larrivée has become a brand name that represents a contemporary family lifestyle.  Ricardo Larrivée is a happily married father of three and is a brilliant and passionate communicator with a personality as appealing as his recipes.

    I had the pleasure to meet Ricardo last week in Toronto for the Metastatic Breast Cancer Meeting. I live in Montreal, and I specifically drove to Toronto, to see him. What a super kind soul, a real kindness emanates from his heart, and his bubble for life is infectious. I am a 9 and 1/2 year metastatic survivor and his presence invigorated myself and my dear husband. If you can forward this message to him, I would appreciate it.
