Ingredients
  • 454g (1 lb) lean ground beef
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) olive oil
  • 1.25 liters (5 cups) chicken broth
  • 1 can 398 ml (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 25 ml (1/2 cup) dill pickles, sliced (large pickles)
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) ketchup
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) Dijon mustard
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) celery salt
  • 180 ml (3/4 cup) macaroni
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Salt and pepper



Preparation
1.
In a large saucepan, brown the meat and onions in the oil. Add remaining ingredients except for the macaroni and bread. Blend well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Skim as needed. Add the macaroni. Bring to a boil and cook for about 12 minutes or until the macaroni is al dente. Season with salt and pepper.
2.
In a ridged skillet, over high heat, toast the bread on each side. Serve with the soup.
