Asian-Style Glazed Hot Dogs

Asian-Style Glazed Hot Dogs

Output: 6 hot dogs

Ingredients
    Hot and sour salad
  • 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) Savoy cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and cut into thin julienne
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut into thin julienne
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) lime juice 

  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) rice vinegar 

  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) honey
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) sambal œleck
  • Hot dogs
  • 6 Wienerwurst or long frankfurters 
sausages
  • 45 ml (3 tablespoons) honey 

  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) soy sauce
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) sesame seeds, toasted
  • 6 European hot dog buns or 2 baguettes cut into pieces the same length as the sausage 

  • Mayonnaise, to taste



Preparation
Hot and sour salad

In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Let rest for 20 minutes. 

Hot dogs

In a pan of boiling water, cook the sausages for about 5 minutes. Drain.

In nonstick skillet, brown the sausages in the honey and soy sauce until they are glazed and the sauce is syrupy. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Toast the bread or warm them in the oven.
3.
Open the buns horizontally and spread with mayonnaise. Fill with the sausages and hot and sour salad.
