Strawberry Banana Crisp
Ingredients
Filling
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) semi-salted or unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
- 3 cups (750 ml) bananas cut into 1/2-inch (1-cm) slices
- 4 cups (1 litre) frozen strawberries, thawed, with their juice
Crisp
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) flour
- 1 cup (250 ml) quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) sliced almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
- 1/3 cup (75 ml) melted butter
Preparation
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
Filling
- In a skillet, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and cook for 1 minute. Add the bananas and some strawberry juice. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Place the strawberries and the remaining of their juice in a 30 x 20-cm (12 x 8-inch) baking dish.
- Spoon the banana mixture over the strawberries and toss gently.
Crisp
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Spread over the fruit.
- Bake for about 30 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
- If necessary, warm slightly in a microwave oven.
