Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 6 cups (1.5 litres) water
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) sugar
  • Grated zest of 1 lemon
  • 4 cups (1 litre) fresh strawberries
  • Juice of 6 lemons (about 250 ml/1 cup)

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water, sugar and lemon zest to a boil.
  2. Place the strawberries and lemon juice in a pitcher. Add the hot syrup.
  3. Refrigerate until chilled, about 4 hours. Strain if desired, but do not press.
  4. Serve well chilled.
