Bloody Caesar

Ingredients

    Seasoned Salt

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) sea salt
  • grated zest of 1/2 lime
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) finely chopped cilantro
  • 1/8 tsp (0.5 ml) crushed hot pepper flakes
  • 1 lime wedge

    Bloody Caesar

  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) tomato and clam juice (Clamato-style)
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) vodka
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml) green Tabasco sauce (or regular)
  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 stalk cilantro
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Ice cubes

Preparation

Seasoned Salt

  1. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except for the lime wedge.
  2. Moisten the rim of a tall glass with the lime wedge. Dip the rim in the salt mixture. Set aside.

Bloody Caesar

  1. In a measuring cup, stir together the tomato and clam juice, vodka, lime juice, Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Fill the prepared glass three-quarter full with ice cubes and add the Bloody Caesar. Garnish with the celery and cilantro stalks and the lime wedge. Garnish with a Spicy Harissa Shrimp Skewer (see recipe) on the edge of the glass.
