White Bean Purée (baby food)

  1. In a food processor, purée the beans with the water until smooth. Strain. 


Legumes are nutritious, inexpensive, and some, such as lentils, do not require any pre-soaking. The canned version is very convenient, but choose the unsalted kind and rinse them before using. If your baby is at the coarse puree stage, just mash the beans with a fork. If their pasty texture seems unpleasant for your child, mix them with a vegetable purée, and voila!
