  1. In a saucepan, bring the cranberries, sugar, and water to a boil. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes or until the compote is syrupy. Let cool and refrigerate until completely chilled, about 30 minutes. Delicious in a Yule log, between cake layers or on ice cream.

  1. Made this today. Sweet and tart. Can't wait to use it in the cake recipe. Very easy and quick to prepare a day ahead.
