With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). In a saucepan, bring the dates and juice to a boil. Simmer gently for about 15 minutes, stirring, until it thickens. Set aside. In a bowl, blend the Oatmeal Crust ingredients.
In a 28 x 18-cm (11 x 7-inch) dish, spread half of the oatmeal crust. Press lightly with the bottom of a glass. Evenly spread the filling and cover with the remaining crust. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the top begins to brown. Cool and cut into squares. Serve warm or cold.
