Ingredients

- 1 ½ cups (225 g) frozen haskap berries (see note)
- ½ cup (105 g) sugar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice

Preparation

- In a small pot, bring the berries, sugar and lemon juice to a boil. Remove from the heat and let cool. The haskap berry compote will keep for 1 week in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

You can make variations of the compote to serve with the caramelized cheese tarte, using other berries such as blueberries, cranberries or saskatoon berries.
