Cooking Salmon in the Air Fryer

There are at least three good reasons for wanting to cook salmon steaks in the air fryer. The method is super easy, the salmon cooks more quickly and the texture is perfect, with a caramelized crust on the surface and tender, moist flesh on the inside. A recipe that can’t possibly fail! In short, to try it is to adopt it!

Prep

We love this cooking method because it’s possible to cook the fish with multiple marinades and seasonings. Place the salmon steaks in the basket, skin side down, then season them or brush them with a mixture of your choice.

Cook

It’s preferable to cook fish with the skin on to prevent it from drying up too much and to preserve its juiciness. Put the pieces in the air fryer basket, skin side down. If the fish has no skin, place it on parchment paper before putting it in the basket. Set the device to 400°F (200°C) and cook for 6 to 10 minutes (based on the thickness of the steaks and the desired level of cooking). Good to know: It’s not necessary to preheat the fryer.

Serve

Simply remove the basket, take out the salmon steaks and divide them between plates. It’s delicious with rice, green vegetables or another side dish of your choice.

While you wait to try it with your favourite salmon recipe, go for this one we’ve adapted for the air fryer. It should make everyone around the table happy.
