This trend began with the SikMulSung supermarket chain in Seoul. It is at once a grocery store, a restaurant and a vertical farming facility that grows lettuce inside its walls. They sell butterhead lettuce, romaine lettuce and Batavia lettuce, each beautifully presented in silk paper and tied with a ribbon.
Even if this type of bouquet isn’t as commonplace as a classic flower bouquet, and likely won’t ever be replaced, it encourages eating more fresh vegetables, as well as limiting the purchase of freshly cut flowers, which are mass produced and fleeting. You can also personalize your bouquet by adding fruits and edible flowers.
This edible bouquet trend isn’t entirely novel. Bouquets made of cheese and charcuterie, like those by Christelle en cuisine, or beer bouquets by Box bières, are also available.
