It all started with French pastry chef Philippe Conticini, who began the concept of giant pastries by launching the XXL croissant, which didn’t take long to go viral across social media. Others quickly followed suit, and they can now be found almost everywhere, in both large and miniature versions.
Large pastries (often bigger than your hand!), like those available at Le Toledo, are perfect for sharing, whereas smaller versions, like at Au Pain Doré bakeries, can be eaten in a single bite and are great to satisfy a craving for something sweet.
