Cookies are stepping down and making way for the croissant, or even a rice cereal square that’s toasted on the end of a stick. Some chefs, like Jonathan Garnier, even prepare the dessert in Mason jars, layered with crushed graham crackers at the bottom, chocolate and marshmallows, orange zest and caramelized peanuts.
On the savoury side, the trend that’s gaining steam on TikTok consists of bringing a charcuterie and cheese platter to the fire and melting a piece of cheese like brie, camembert or even a Mini Babybel over a hot flame. Then place the gooey cheese between two crackers, with slices of meat and, why not, a drizzle of honey or jam.
