Cherry Chip Cake with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

This cake is inspired by boxed cake mixes. Its lovely pink colour, speckled with red, is recreated using chopped frozen cherries and food colouring, while its flavour comes from almond extract. For the frosting, we went all out with ribbons and rosettes, crafted with a piping bag.
