Tomatillos are a small green fruit wrapped in a papery shell, like ground cherries. They are tart and slightly lemony, making them an ideal base for salsa verde.
The salsa verde will keep for 7 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Delicious served with fish, grilled meat, eggs or simply with corn chips.
