    • 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
    • 1 cup (250 ml) brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup (125 ml) corn syrup
    • 1/2 cup (125 ml) molasses
    • 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
    • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) white vinegar
    • 1/4 cup (60 ml) salted butter
    • 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) baking soda
    • 72 squares 4-inch (10-cm) wax paper

Preparation

At the last step, if the taffy becomes too hard to be stretched, put it in the microwave oven for a few seconds.

Generously butter your hands to stretch the taffy.

Preparing this recipe with a friend makes it easier and more fun.
Cooking taffy must be done under the supervision of an adult.

Well packed, taffy keeps for weeks at room temperature.
