Ingredients

- 2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup (100 g) popcorn kernels
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp Tajín-style seasoning, or more to taste (see note)
- 1 lime, zest finely grated

Preparation

- In a large pot over medium-high heat, warm the oil. Add the popcorn kernels and toss to coat well with the oil. Cover the pot. Over medium heat, pop the kernels while shaking the pot regularly. The popcorn is ready when you no longer hear any kernels popping. Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl. Remove any kernels that have not popped.
- In a small pot or in the microwave oven, melt the butter. Add the Tajín seasoning and mix well. Drizzle the butter over the popcorn and mix well with a spatula. Add the lime zest and mix again. Although the popcorn will keep for 2 days in an airtight container at room temperature, it is best enjoyed the same day it is made.
