    • 24 whole chicken wings (see note)
    • 3/4 cup (180 ml) ketchup
    • 2 tbsp (30 ml) brown sugar
    • 2 tbsp chili powder
    • 1 tsp ground cumin
    • 2 tsp dried thyme
    • 2 tsp garlic salt
    • 1 1/2 tsp (7.5 ml) Tabasco sauce, or to taste (see note)

Chicken wings are sold whole or in pieces. If they are whole, you will need to separate them into pieces as described above. they must be trimmed as indicated in this recipe. Regardless of how you buy them, you will need a total of 48 pieces. The amount of tabasco may seem like a lot but, surprisingly, it is not that hot. If you love spicy food, be even more generous with it.
