Preparation

  1. In a blender, purée all ingredients except the pork. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Season the pork with salt and pepper. Place it in the slow cooker with the sauce. Cover and cook on low heat for about 8 hours. Alternatively, cook on high for 6 hours.
  3. Place the meat on a plate and tent with aluminum foil. Let stand 15 minutes, then shred using a fork.
  4. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, bring the sauce to a boil and reduce until syrupy, about half the original volume. Add the meat and coat well with the sauce.

  2. The pork cooked this way comes out so juicy and tender. I used a butt cut, I followed the recipe other than that to a T. I added to the juices on the stove, half a cup of brown sugar, one extra teaspoon each salt and garlic powder and one teaspoon Liquid Smoke. Absolutely amazing addition to the sauce!!

  3. Excellent! Rather than shredding the pork and mixing it with the sauce, I served this as a roast with the jus on the side, and it was delicious. The meat was so very tender! While the pork was resting, I reduced the jus in the slow cooker on High, which worked well. I did use an extra onion, an extra clove of garlic, and I substituted an equal amount of passata for the plum tomatoes because I didn't have any canned tomatoes in the house. I will definitely be making this again!

  4. Dear Ricardo and staff. I have tried a lot of pulled pork recipes, but this one is by far the BEST. I followed the recipes to a "T" and the meat just fell apart and was perfectly seasoned. The jus was also the right consistency. Thank you for this recipe!!
