French Onion Soup

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, gently cook the onions in the butter until they just begin to color. Add the broth, wine and thyme.
  2. Simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour the soup into 4 oven-safe bowls. Place the toasted bread on the soup and sprinkle with cheese. Brown under the oven’s hot broiler.

Comment

  1. I like how fast it is to make but I found the wine a bit strong so next time I'll use a different wine or a bit less of it....still very tasty!
