Ingredients

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, combine the flour, salt and cream of tartar. Add and blend in the water. If you want a single color, add the food colouring at this step. If there is more than one color, add the food colouring to the dough at the kneading stage. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture forms a thick dough that pulls away from the sides of pan. Cool and knead for 1 to 2 minutes with disposable gloves. Keep the dough in an airtight container at room temperature. It will keep for several weeks.

Note

And for even more fun ...

To colour the dough, we suggest the Club House or McCormick brand four "Neon" colors selection. Kids love them because of their intense colour. You can find them in the baking ingredients aisle in most supermarkets. You can flavor the dough with vanilla, orange, lemon, banana, cherry ... Look for the small aroma bottles in the baking ingredients aisle in most supermarkets.
