  1. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Oil a 23 x 13-cm (9 x 5-inch) Pyrex loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except for the brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Place in the prepared pan, pressing lightly. Sprinkle with the brown sugar.
  3. Bake for 1 hour. Slice and drizzle with the pan juices. Serve with mashed potatoes and green or yellow wax beans.
  4. Serve with ketchup, if desired.


  1. Ho hum...not the most interesting of meat loafs. It was plain and very simple. I prefer the other one's I make.

  2. Why is my grocery list in metric? Love this site but need to print grocery list in U.S. Measures.
