Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, cook the potatoes in salted water until very tender, about 15 minutes. Drain.
  2. With a masher, mash the potatoes with the butter. With an electric mixer, purée the mixture with the milk. Adjust the seasoning. The purée should be firm.
  3. With three different sizes of ice cream scoops, shape three balls of potatoes.
  4. Create the eyes with two pink peppercorns, the nose with a piece of carrot and place a sprig of rosemary as a broomstick.

Note

To shape the balls, take a 90 ml (6 tablespoons) ice cream scoop for the biggest ball, a 60 ml (1/4 cup) scoop for the medium ball, then a 30 ml (2 tablespoons) scoop for the smallest.
This recipe is an idea from my friend Bob Blumer, chef and host at the Food Network.

  1. Have not made this yet.Kids will love it so we will serve it Thursday Xmas Eve, I am certain it will be as good as all other recipes I have made.

  2. I haven't made this recipe yet. It looks so cute that I would really like to give it a try over the holidays. Merry Christmas Ricardo and Staff at Cuisine .com

  3. Hi, Thank you for your nice receipes once again. I like the presentation of potatoes but I do not see myself work on it on the 25Th. How long in advance can this be prepared and if possible how do we store the snowmen in the fridge. Thank you so much! Line Biron
