- In a large skillet or saucepan, bring the blueberries, water, sugar, and lemon juice to a boil. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Keep warm.
- Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, and butter. Pour over the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon just enough to moisten the flour. With a 75 ml (1/3 cup) ice cream scoop. Spoon four balls of dough, side by side, on the warm blueberry sauce. Cover and simmer very gently for 8 to 10 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked.
- In a bowl, combine the yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla. Serve on the warm blueberry dumplings.
You can also cook the dumplings in 500 ml (2 cups) of maple syrup instead of the blueberry sauce.
