Ingredients

- 1 can 28 oz (796 ml) whole tomatoes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
- Salt and pepper

Preparation

- Pour can in a bowl and crush tomatoes with clean hands.
- In a saucepan, cook onion with garlic in oil over medium heat, without browning. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add tomatoes. Stir and bring to a boil. Let simmer for about 30 minutes. Adjust seasoning. Watch out for splashes! You can use a splatter screen to place on the saucepan.
