  1. In a large skillet, brown meat in oil while crumbling with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper. Add onion, garlic, pepper and spices and cook for 2 minutes. Deglaze with coffee. Bring to a boil and transfer pork mixture into slow cooker. Add beans and tomatoes and mix thoroughly.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. Adjust seasoning. Serve with sour cream, rice or pasta.


Coffee adds depth to the chili’s flavour.


  1. Looked to dry, added an extra can of tomatoes

  2. Delicious, I reduced the chili powder, due to my grand children, and served it with the sour cream .... ..... a real success !

  3. Delicious! I replaced the jalepeno with cayenne pepper and served with sour cream (a must) and tortilla chips.
