- In a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice, combine the gin, the Chartreuse and the lemon juice. Shake vigorously.
- Strain into a coupe glass.
- Top with the hard sparkling cider.
- With an atomizer, spray with a smoky Scotch whisky (try a medium-peat 12-year-old single malt) or rinse the glass with a bar spoon full of Scotch first, if desired.
- Garnish with a long lemon zest.
