Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

  1. Spread half of the butter on one side of a bread slice. Place the cheese on the unbuttered side, close the sandwich and butter the top slice.
  2. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, grill the sandwich for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip the sandwich over and lightly press with a spatula. Grill until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  3. Let the grilled cheese rest for 2 minutes. Cut into triangles and serve with soup or sliced raw vegetables.

Note

For a creamier centre, spread the inside of the sandwich with mayonnaise before grilling. This recipe is from "Ricardo for Kids".
