White Bean and Sausage Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 4 Toulouse sausages, cut into 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil, plus more for serving
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) tomato paste
  • 2 cans (19 oz/540 ml each) white beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (14 oz /398 ml) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup (250 ml) chicken broth, hot
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • Toasted bread, for serving (optional)
