Note from Ricardo Frozen cherries work best for this recipe. They will flavour the bourbon more quickly than fresh cherries, which need a few months to macerate. You will have enough cherry bourbon and macerated cherries to prepare 5 to 6 colas. The flavour of the amaretto pairs well with the macerated cherries, but you can easily omit if you prefer.
