Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups (205 g) frozen cherries (see note); 1/4 cup (55 g) sugar; 1 cup (250 ml) bourbon; 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) vanilla; 2 oz (60 ml) cherry bourbon; 1/2 oz (15 ml) amaretto-style almond liqueur (optional); 1 lemon wedge; Ice cubes; 1/2 cup (125 ml) cola, cold; 2 macerated cherries; 2 fresh cherries

Frozen cherries work best for this recipe. They will flavour the bourbon more quickly than fresh cherries, which need a few months to macerate.

You will have enough cherry bourbon and macerated cherries to prepare 5 to 6 colas.

The flavour of the amaretto pairs well with the macerated cherries, but you can easily omit if you prefer.
