How about cutting it in half and squeezing the seeds out. Picking out the white membrane is not such a big deal, and if you didn't get all of it out, more fiber for you. I think technique one does not work; seeds will pop out everywhere. Technique 2 loses all the juice. why waste it? Just cut in half and invert the halves with your hand in a large bowl. Pick out white membrane manually. Use the largest bowl you have.
I've been using this technique ever since I saw the video. It's mess-free and easy.
