  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the onion in the oil. Add the garlic and ginger. Cook for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes, coconut milk, garam masala, chili pepper, if using, and salt. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Add the shrimp. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Add the lime juice and sprinkle with coriander leaves. Adjust the seasoning and serve.


  1. Delicious, simple taste and preparation. I used the chili pepper but only a 1" piece with no seeds. Hot enough for my taste.

  2. Made the recipe exactly as written. My partner LOVED this recipe and would rate it 5 stars. Myself I found it lacking a bit in flavour (typical North American taste rather than Asian). Next time I think I would maybe consider adding some lemon grass and or thai basil or something of that sort? Also maybe put two chilis instead of one.
