In a saucepan, soften the carrots, celery, the white of the onions and garlic with the celery seeds in the butter. Season with salt and pepper. Add the broth and bay leaf. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Add the noodles and peas. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes or until noodles are tender. Remove the bay leaf. Add the chicken and green onions. Adjust the seasoning.
