    • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
    • 1 bottle (340 ml) pale ale, cold
    • 2 onions, cut into ¼-inch (½ cm) slices (see note)

Large sweet onions (like vidalia) are preferable, but you can make great onion rings with any type of onion. Keep the smaller rings for another recipe.
