Grape Tarts

For a gorgeous finish, this simple four-ingredient dessert is the best of the bunch. The elegant taste of golden puff pastry topped with sugar, cardamom and grapes (any colour, but preferably seedless) will amaze you. These delectable tarts were also that much better because they were made with grapes that flourish on vines in front of RICARDO HQ. Grapes are rarely cooked, but this recipe is an original way to warm up to the baked fruit’s sweet side.

  1. With the rack in the lowest position, preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cardamom. Set aside.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a 10-inch (25 cm) square. Prick the surface using a fork. Cut the dough into 2 rectangles and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle the dough with half of the sugar mixture. Spread the grape slices overtop and sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown. Let cool completely.
