Make this delicious sauerkraut soup recipe in your RICARDO multi-function electric pressure cooker or Instant Pot.

  1. Preheat the pressure cooker on the Sauté function for 2 minutes. Brown the bacon, onion and garlic in the oil. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cover and select the Soup function. Set the machine to cook for 15 minutes.
  3. Let the pressure release manually. Once the pressure is released, remove the lid. Adjust the seasoning. Serve with a slice of country bread or grilled, sliced sausages, if desired.

  1. I am very familiar with the old pressure cookers and have just purchased an instant pot. I am confused at the "let the pressure release manually" instruction. There's a quick release, natural release (could take up to 20 min. and a 10 min. natural release. Which should I use for the sauerkraut soup?
