The perfect fusion of classic smoked meat with banh mi, this sandwich recipe marries their respective flavours wonderfully.

  1. In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Let marinate for 15 minutes. Drain.

Sandwiches

  1. Meanwhile, on a work surface, cut the baguettes in half horizontally. Spread the inside of each bread with the mayonnaise and pâté on one side and the mustard on the other. Top the pâté with a drizzle of hoisin sauce.
  2. Garnish with the smoked meat, pickled vegetables, cilantro and chili pepper. Close the sandwiches and cut each one into 3 sections.
