November 27 to December 1, 2023: What to Cook This Week

Variety is on the agenda this week, from the meatless Monday meal to the steak and vegetable dinner that awaits you on Friday! In between, cook simple, comforting dishes that please all tastes.

Monday: Spaghetti Squash Marinara

This 5-ingredient seasonal recipe puts the spotlight on spaghetti squash. Cut the veg into thick slices and cook them in the oven until soft. First, shred the flesh on each plate with a fork, then add tomato sauce. Cheese and basil give the finishing touch to this comforting dish that reproduces the appearance of a pasta dish.

Tuesday: Ginger and Turmeric Chicken

Marrying ginger and turmeric brings a maximum of flavours to this recipe created to make your weeknight dinners easier. Brown the chicken thighs in a skillet with vegetables and apricots before adding spices and deglazing with broth. Serve this colourful dish with couscous and keep the leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch.

Wednesday: Seared Tilapia with Corn and Cherry Tomato Salad

This fish dish is perfect for busy nights, when you’ve got less than 30 minutes to prepare the meal. Serve the tilapia with a salad combining cherry tomatoes, black olives and frozen corn. This recipe is ideal to free some space in your freezer for those meat pies you’ll be making for the holidays.

Thursday: White Minestrone

A bowl of comforting minestrone is just the thing to gather everyone around the table. In addition to celery and onion, this recipe includes a fennel bulb and white beans, two ingredients that inspired the name of the dish. Sprinkle the aromatics and flour over the softened veggies in the pot, then pour in the broth and stretch it with water. Add the pasta and legumes at the end of the cooking time. Delicious with toasted bread on the side.

Friday: Top Sirloin Steaks with Peas and Sweet Potatoes

These spicy steaks cooked in butter with garlic have everything to please grilled meat lovers. Serve the steaks with a blend of green peas and sweet potatoes cooked in broth with tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Friday night’s dream meal, to savour in good company with a nice glass of red wine.
