The Brussels sprout stalk can be replaced with 24 individual sprouts. Toss the sprouts with oil, salt and pepper. Grill them on the barbecue for 2 minutes. Flip them over and turn off the side of the grill you are cooking on. Close the lid and continue cooking over indirect heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until the sprouts are tender and golden.
The individual sprouts, once oiled and seasoned with salt and pepper, can be cooked on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper in an oven preheated to 400°F (200°C) for 40 minutes or until the sprouts are tender and golden, stirring halfway through cooking.
