November 30 to December 4, 2020: A Kid-Proof Menu of the Week

Happy children, happy parents! This week, spoil the kiddos with some guaranteed-to-please recipes (we can already hear them shouting “More!”). This menu keeps the children in mind, not only because we want to brighten up their November, but simply because we love them: Fajitas, pizza, macaroni, let’s go!

Monday: Beef and Macaroni

Revisit an old childhood classic: beef and macaroni. This dish will hit the table in just 45 minutes, and is made with ground beef, macaroni, bell peppers, celery…basically anything goes...even those vegetables lying around in the fridge. Plus, the leftovers are perfect for the next day’s lunches. Long live the thermos!

Tuesday: Vegetarian Deluxe Pizza

Naan bread pizza is a perfect weeknight dinner! The kids will love dressing their own little pies with their choice of ingredients, plus it gives you a much-appreciated helping hand. Spending quality time in the kitchen makes everyone feel good during these unusual times!

Wednesday: Hearty Chicken and Rice Soup

Soup—it’s the ultimate remedy for the little ones when they come to the table with pink cheeks after playing outside. This simple recipe is filled with fresh and satisfying ingredients that will help you refuel in the middle of the week. As a garnish, try adding our multipurpose herbs preserved in salt.

Thursday: Chicken Fajitas

Chicken is always a winner with the younger crowd. It can adapt to almost any flavour and tonight, it’s the star in these fajitas, alongside caramelized onions and bell peppers! Stimulate your kids’ creativity by placing all the toppings on the table in separate bowls. They’ll be excited to garnish their own tortillas with colourful ingredients and will for sure want to have fajita night again!

Friday: One-Pot Lasagna

Tonight, satisfy the brood with this lasagna that goes from skillet to table! While the pasta bake cools, your children will have plenty of time to tell you about the funny adventures they had this week. After all, TGIF!

Dessert: Crunchy Chocolate Cereal Treats

Watching a family movie or playing a board game is a perfect way to end the evening. To accompany the activities, here’s a sweet little treat to brighten up the start of your well-deserved weekend!
