March 1-5, 2021: A Culinary Voyage with the Kids

For March Break this year, we say use your imagination and create a few magical moments with the kids, without even leaving the house. To ensure you don’t get bored, we’ve put together an international menu, where you can explore a new country each day.

Monday: Margherita Pizza

On the first day of our journey, we’re headed to Italy! Play songs like “Bella Ciao” or “Vivo Per Lei,” learning a few new Italian words as you enjoy a classic margherita pizza on homemade dough. A simple recipe to enjoy with your little famiglia.

Tuesday: Grilled Beef Tacos with Sweet Potatoes

Get ready for a fiesta with these tacos that are impressive, but not too spicy for the kids. Break out colourful scarves to recreate some Mexico-inspired decor. It’s a meal everyone at the table will love.

Wednesday: Stir-Fried Noodles with Vegetables

We’ve made it to the middle of the week and have arrived in Thailand. Grab the chopsticks and show the kids how to eat their noodles. This dish is a great way to use any excess veggies you have on hand. It’s an enticing and colourful dish!

Thursday: American-Style Double Cheeseburgers

And now, on to the United States! Practically the symbol of a nation, this hamburger doubles the yumminess. The kids can help make the beef patties by using a burger press to simplify the task. Now enjoy this dish from our neighbours to the south while listening to the Beach Boys.

Friday: Saag Paneer

Let’s finish the week off in India. Learn how to make paneer, a fresh cheese from South Asia, and enjoy this meal sitting on pillows in the living room. It’s a dish that certainly isn’t lacking in heat!
