What RICARDO Staff Are Cooking for the 2024-25 Holiday Season?

The holidays are coming up fast, and we’re certain you’re in the throes of coming up with a menu to serve your guests. And so are we! Here are what our RICARDO Media colleagues will be making this year, from beverages and starters to main courses and dessert. Maybe their plans will provide some inspiration for you.

1. Tempura Shrimp with Hot and Sour Mango Sauce

The perfect pre-dinner bites? Senior Account Director Anouk will be kicking off her festivities this year with crisp and airy tempura shrimp. Served with a mango sauce that runs the gamut from hot and spicy to sweet and sour, they’re a great start to any feast!

2. Limoncello

Béatrice, Director of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives, will be whipping up this classic Italian limoncello. It’s been a classic in her parents’ home over the years, and she continues with the tradition in her own home.

3. Pavlova

Our Digital Project Manager, Gaëlle, is taking this simple pavlova recipe and making it her own by stacking a few together in the shape of a Christmas tree. Garnished with raspberries and passion fruit, it looks beautiful and tastes delicious.

4. Roasted Turkey with Pears and Ginger

For her part, Brigitte, our president, will be making a classic Christmas Eve feast that includes the works: meatball stew, meat pie, chicken pot pie, truffles, Yule logs, Café RICARDO cupcakes, and more. But the star of the show will certainly be our roasted turkey with pears and ginger recipe.

5. Gravlax (The Best)

A plate of salt-cured salmon with a mustard-caper hollandaise sauce is what Juliette, Marketing Project Manager, will be serving her holiday guests as a starter this year. It’s easier to make than you may think and tastes absolutely delicious.

6. Lemon-Pistachio Baked Alaska

It’s all about meringue at Josée’s house this year. Our Studio, Creation and Production Director will not only be making this unique baked Alaska flavour (there’s a frozen lemon parfait in the middle!), but she’ll also be serving our cherry-almond pavlova Yule log. So many wonderful flavours and beautiful presentations!

7. Spicy Devilled Eggs with Crunchy Breadcrumb Topping

Devilled eggs come standard at any and every holiday party, and Social Media and Digital Content Specialist Marika knows this! Yes, the classic version is always a hit, but she’ll be taking things up a notch this year with a recipe that brings crunch and a spicy kick to the egg appetizer.

8. Maple, Raspberry and White Chocolate Yule Log

This Yule log is very delicate and takes some finesse, but in the capable hands of Accounting Technician Marie-Nathalie, we know she’s gonna nail it this year! The melted white chocolate sprinkled with crushed pecans and maple-sugar flakes hardens and is then broken into shards, creating a wonderful bark effect. It’ll be the centrepiece of the holiday dessert table.

9. Chocolate Hazelnut Madeleines

Madeleines, the classic French small cakes shaped like shells, will look beautiful when plated and served at the home of Nathalie, our VP of Communications and Marketing. She’s planning on making this chocolate version dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with crushed hazelnuts, for a wonderful visual effect. They can make a great gourmet gift, too!

10. Gingerbread Cookies (The Best)

Classic gingerbread cookies; they’re great to serve at a holiday potluck, to gift to a loved one, or to leave on a plate for Santa. Our Studio and Traffic Coordinator, Josianne, is planning on baking batches of the spiced cookie (even a chocolate version!) this season, and we’re certain these treats made with love will be very much appreciated.

11. Miso-Honey Pork Meatballs

General Director Mireille will also be serving our miso-honey meatballs this holiday season. The ultimate amuse-bouche with a sticky umami glaze, this is a newer recipe on our site, but already gaining in popularity!

12. Four-Layer Chocolate Yule Log

If you’re not a fan of rolling cake into a Yule log, do like Art Director Geneviève is planning this year by simply taking all the same elements but stacking them instead. Whether you choose two layers or four, choose your preferred flavour, garnish as you would the rolled cake and let your guests enjoy! After all, who can say no to cake, no matter what shape it takes?
